Transaction date coming in as 14-JUN-2014 - why

We are on 11.5.10.2 - extended support upgrade.

I have copied a sales order to a credit only sales order. This order type does not require shipping, the workflow takes it directly to autoinvoice. In autoinvoice it errored as not able to find a GL_DATE. I added an open gl_date in the transaction form of 24-FEB-2012. The transaction date on the transaction is 14-JUN-2014. How can that happen?

Any thoughts or help will be appreciated.
