M4000 - XSCF

On our  M4000 server, we are not able to make any changes  on XSCF as the user id configured do not have platadm  rights. Unfortunately this is the only ID we have.  Can we login to serial console and login using default user id. This requires moving the key switch to maintenance mode . Will this  cause the Server to reboot. Can we do this without affecting the OS
