Leases Depreciation functionality in Assets module

 Hi Folks,
Could some one explain me why we need to capture leased assets depreciation in our asset book/ GL Ledger.


My Understanding as follow: Leased asset means (Mr X is owner of the asset, and we have taken that asset for lease, yes we need to pay lease amount so we need to create lease in Assets module) But why we need to calculate Depreciation for these assets in our system, since the asset belongs to Mr "X"?
