Trying to Open form in Smart View and get error Unsupported Protocol : https

When I have a form open in planning and I select the Open in Smart View button it won't open in Excel.  I get the error 'Unsupported protocol : https'.  I can't find anywhere in planning where there is a https on a server path.  What can cause this?
