Order Quantity with Min Max

Hi,

In the General Planning tab for item setup, there is a field Order Quantity Minimum & Maximum. In the user guide for Inventory it says that This field affects the min max planning. But does not tell what exactly it does. Can someone tell me how this field affects the min max planning quantity.

I have an item A which is Min Max Planning. The minimum quantity = 1 and Maximum quantity = 3. The Fixed Lot Multiplier = 1. In such a situation i would like to know how the Order Quantity Minimum and Maximum would affect the min max planning for the item.

Please help.
