32-bit to 64-bit Oracle RAC Migration on Linux
Hi. I have a 2 node RAC cluster on 32-bit CentOS 4 with 32-bit Oracle Clusterware and Database binaries installed. Recently, I have added another node to the cluster. The new node was installed with 64-bit CentOS. I managed to extend the cluster without much problem. Right now the setup is as follows:
Node 1: 32-bit CentOS 4, 32-bit Clusterware and Database + ASM
Node 2: 32-bit CentOS 4, 32-bit Clusterware and Database + ASM
Node 3: 64-bit CentOS 4, 32-bit Clusterware and Database + ASM
So my question is, if I were to upgrade the entire cluster to run on 64-bit CentOS 4 and 64-bit Oracle binaries. What is the best approach?
Node 1: 32-bit CentOS 4, 32-bit Clusterware and Database + ASM
Node 2: 32-bit CentOS 4, 32-bit Clusterware and Database + ASM
Node 3: 64-bit CentOS 4, 32-bit Clusterware and Database + ASM
So my question is, if I were to upgrade the entire cluster to run on 64-bit CentOS 4 and 64-bit Oracle binaries. What is the best approach?
