Office 2010 Attachments (docx or xlsx) open as zip file

If we upload a docx or xlsx attachment, basically any Office 2010 attachment, when a Forms user attempts to open the attachment the prompt treats it as a zip file. I found bug 9143867 - MS 2007 OFFICE DOCUMENTS (DOCX EXT.) ATTACHMENTS PROMPTS TO OPEN AS ZIP FILE for this issue. The bug was closed with Status 92 - Closed, not a bug.

Is there a patch or other solution for this problem in 11.5.10?
