Able to retire current month asset in R12

Hello,

I am testing Rel 12.1.3 Fixed assets retirements. Tried retiring a current month added asset and the system allowed it, when it should not allow have. In 11i, and previous versions, current month asset retirements were not allowed. Did something change in Rel 12, or am I missing a profile setting? We don't want to allow newly added assets to be retired within the same month of addition.
