Gross profit calculation for CTO orders before star Item creation

in EBS Customizations (MOSC)
Hello Gurus,

In case of CTO orders, once the configuration is done and star item is created then only we can get the cost of assembly and find out profit margin. Is there a way to identify the cost of assembly just after configuration and before star item creation?
