Voting disks and OCR disks in asm
My question is about the best practice of having 3 voting disks against 1 and creating a seperate disk group (with three disks) with normal redundancy against just storing the ocr and the voting disks along with database files in a diskgroup with external redundancy. My layout was to have
Diskgroup name Redundancy
OCRVOTE Normal with three seperate disks (SAN layer also has redundancy)
DATA External
What are all the benefits and disadvantages of having 1 Voting and 1 OCR disks against the layout shown above where the installer will create 3 voting disks. Will it have any performance impact because at SAN also has some redundancy and on top of it we have a normal redundany from ASM.
