I want my invoice number to be capital letter even if it is entered as small letter

Dear,

I  want to personalise the invoice workbench particularly on the invoice number column field

I have read Note 1356608.1 that didn't help, since I want precisely the following:

1- While querying form invoice workbench an invoice number either in upper or lower cases, the result should be always in all cases (upper and lower). 

     e.g :

              1a-if I query invoice like %abc%, result should be in all cases –Upper and Lower-.

              1b- if I query invoice like %ABC%, result should be in all cases –Upper and Lower-.

2-While inserting an invoice in the workbench it should be saved in uppercase only from now and forward.
