11.2.0.2 installer expects specific values for OS Kernel parameters tcp_smallest and largest anon po

My installation platform is HPUX Itanium 64-bit with OS 11.31. I'm trying to install patch p10098816 (10.2.0.2). The installer complains that the values for the OS Kernel parameters tcp_smallest_anon_port, tcp_larget_anon_port, udp_smallest_anon_port, and udp_largest_anon_port is not set to the value required by Oracle. We know how to change those ports in Unix. However, HP lists those parameters as unsupported and recommend no modification to them. I would like to know if there could be bad consequences if I skip the modification of these parameters. Has anybody out there modified these parameters in a HP platform?
