Any API instead of using SYSDATE in the sql queries

Hi,
We have a  requirement in our project.
We don't have to use the SYSDATE in our code. Instead of using SYSDATE we have to use something else.
I heard that some API is there instead of using SYSDATE.
Could anyone is aware of it.
Please share it.
