Oracle 10g RAC Clusterware Installation issue

Hi

I am installing Oracle 10g R2 RAC on 2 Node HP-UX (IA) Servers. the OUI is giving the following error after I input the Public, Private and Virtual Name:

The status returned by the node availability check for nodes racnode2 is:

CLUSTEREXCEPTION

The above nodes can  be used as virtual host names and NOT as public nodes 

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For some reason , the installer is not accepting the Public Node Name and wants the Public Node to be entered as Virtual Node.

Any suggestion to overcome the issue is appreciated.
