Non-dba needs to Oracle backup/restore scripts
Hello,
I have a couple of Oracle databases that are not being properly backed up. We use Netbackup to backup our systems, but I know that this does not properly backup the databases. I know that Netbackup has a plugin that will do hot backups, but that is not currently in the cards. Perhaps next year I can budge for that, but right now I need to be able to backup these databases and make sure that I can restore them if something goes wrong.
Can someone point me to some shell scripts that will allow me to backup Oracle?
