Resources in anything but hours/days!

Currently having a very frustrating time with P6 EPPM 8.2 (Web based) and was wondering if anyone else has the same experiences.....
I want to report on resources that are not measured in time, but in units / time. This would make sense to allocate a nonlabor resource, but in the application, nonlabor resources are measured in days per day (d/d).

Am I the only person in the world that thinks this is ridiculous? Surely it should be in units/day, in P6 professional these are indeed measured in units/day as far as I am aware. So when I am trying to submit a report to a client to show how many cranes were utilized on a particular day, the report shows that I used "5d Cranes". When shown on dashboards, it also has the description in the axis of "At Completion Nonlabor units (Day)" which does not really make sense.....

Howdy, Stranger!
