OEM Grid Control 12c Install

We are encountering errors with our OEM grid control 12c install. Our DBMS is on one server and the OEM application is on another service. Both servers are Linux SUSE. Does the server where OEM is being installed need the Oracle client installed on it? Currently it does not.
