I have 2 catalogs in two instances and same dbid(database) in both catalogs

I need to merge the backup information in one catalog for the same DBID

Timeline                                               CATALOG USED

======================                ==================

<= 09-OCT-2011                                 catalog1

09-OCT-2011-21-MAR-2012              catalog2

>=21-MAR-2012                                 catalog1

How can this be achieved? i.e i need to merge the backup information in catalog2 for dbid xxxx in catalog.
