Report FORMAT=XML

in CRM On Demand - Reports and Dashboards (MOSC) Question
I am trying to create a report that will be consumed by a narrative report.   In the end I am trying to create this http://www.simile-widgets.org/timeline/.   My issue is getting the report to output in XML and have field/columns names other than C1, C2, C3, etc.
