Issue entering Date of Birth in eBusiness center for party when value is 1/1/2012

We experienced the following behavior when entering the date "1/1/2012" in
the Date of Birth field in eBusiness center for a party (Person). When
the value is entered and saved, the screen wipes out the value.
It does not matter whether the users enters the value manually, or selects it from the calendar. The issue has not been seen when entering other date values.
This presents a problem as most of the parties in our app are patients and we need to capture an accurate date of birth.
