External Project Ties

I am trying to find a way to easily identify cross project (external) ties.  I have added the External Early Start and External Late Finish columns to my layout, but even though my activity has an external successor, no date is showing in the External Late Finish column.  I have verified that there is a cross project (external) tie between activities.  Any Ideas on what is going on here?  Example attached.
