Operating System and Hardware Platform displayed on OEM11G Targets-Hosts-<HostName>-under Configurat

Which file does oracle use to obtain the Operating System and Hardware Platform information displayed on the Hosts Tab in OEM?  We have three servers which are missing this information but other servers (which should be set up 'like' these three) are displaying this information.  Could it be that oracle is trying to read a file that has incorrect permissions?
