EAM asset number not available in 'find preventive maintenance schedules' screen

Why wouldn't an EAM asset be available to create a preventive maintenance schedule- under schedule definition?  Some EAM assets are available and others are not.  All the setup appears to be the same.  Obviously, I'm missing a setup somewhere.
