Quality module - Work in Process

Hello

I have a question on the following:

- can I put a job on hold automatically via quality ?? 

- I have also read that when using a specific template ;This collection plan enables you to move or return nonconforming components found in Oracle Work In Process to a Material Review Board/Quarantine Subinventory

that components would be moved back to a specific subinventory,

but when i tried this it did not work, is this working automatically ???

also want to add: we are on 11i  not R12

so in fact I am interested in knowing , 

if quality can automatically like create a repair non standard job, or move components back  etc  (this is not clear to me at all) -- > from a standard way of working.
