ASCP Centralized vs Decentralized

Hi All,

We are in a Centralized ASCP environment and considering moving to a Decentralized env. because  a) the data collections (especially refresh snapshot) take too long to run b) additional VCP applications (like Inv Optimization, Demantra etc.) may be implemented in future.

Do you have any document or paper that outlines the benefits or comparision of Centralized vs Decentralized env. ? 

Also, I struggle with the fact that even with the decentralized env., the refresh snapshots will still be running on the  source instance and in that case, we will still have performance issues in data collections. Will that not be the case ?
