Unable to communicate with the outbound communication vendor. (Due to presense of % symbol.)

Is there a work around available?
I am currently trying to test a program and am recieving the following message:
Unable to communicate with the outbound communication vendor.
Please try again after a while
Please try again after a while
I read in Training and Support that this may be due to the fact that there are % symbols in my email (which there are). Unfortunately, the % symbols are important for this particular email since they are doing a market comparison and my client is shocked they might not be able to use them.
Is there a work around available?
