Change of the Retained Earning Account

Dear Colleagues,

Could you please give me a piece of advice concerning the balance transfer for the Retained Earning Account?

We changed the chart of accounts in our system as of 01-JAN-2012 from 9-digit code to the 6-digit code.
We are transferring the closing balance from old accounts to new accounts in the ADJ-11 period now to have open balances in 2012 on new accounts.

However, I do not know how to proceed with the Retained Earning Account, which balance is updated by the Oracle GL module automatically in January.

How to change that account and to transfer the balance from the old account to the new account?
