Moving Oracle 10.2.0.5 environment to new host

Greetings all.  Thanks in advance to all responders...your time and expertise are much appreciated.

We are receiving new hardware upon which to run our production Oracle 10.2.0.5 environment.  The current hardware is IBM Power 5 and the new will be IBM Power 7.  Plans are to bring the current AIX 6.1 OS to the new host.  The new host will be connected to the same SAN as the current Oracle host.  Due to time constraints on existing equipment maintenance renewals, our plan is to move to the new machine without any changes to the environment (an upgrade to Oracle 11g is planned after this initial move and is not considered in this discussion).  We
