Explaination regarding ora_m000 process

can anybody explain me1. What is ora_m000 background.
2. When ora_m001 or ora_m002 process runs on the machine. Why it took huge resource and increase load.
3. Can i kill this process. If yes what will happen in the background mean will it affect DB.
