 Hello,
I was wondering if anyone out there has ever received the error:

ORA-07216: slghst: gethostname error, unable to get name of current host.

I am using a third party program to access my database, and I'm getting the above response.  I'm running Oracle 11g (11.2.0.3) on RHEL 5.5 64Bit, and the program is using the 32-Bit Oracle 11g instant client to connect to the database.

When looking online and through metalink, it appears that no one else has come across this issue, because all I can find is the stock Oracle answer of:

Cause: gethostname system call returned an error. Possible OS error.
Action: Check additional information returned in OS reference manual.
          Contact customer support.

Howdy, Stranger!
