Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Hi,

I want to test and learn Oracle ASM features and installed a Red Hat Linux 5.7 on a virtual machine using MS Hyper-V.

I created 3 IDE disks, one for OS and application installations and I would like to use other two as raw devices to create ASM disk group.

How is it done on Linux? Is there any cookbook or how-to about this subject?
