Upgrade P5.0 standalone to P6R8.2 EPPM

Hello all,
I have a requirement from a client to upgrade their P5.0 standalone on SQL express database to P6r8.2 EPPM on Oracle database. They have the required license for the software Can anyone help me with the upgrade path for this. I checked the metalink but could not find any hit.

What path should I take for this
1. Upgrade P5.0 to P6v7.0 standalone and then to P6r8.2 standalone on SQL Express database and then finally to P6r8.2 EPPM on Oracle database?
or
2. Install P6r8.2 EPPM on Oracle database and manually migrate all the projects. This will leave things like EPS, OBS among other which also needs ot be taken care manually.
