WARNING:Could not lower the asynch I/O limit to 131 for SQL direct I/O. It is set to -1

 I recently applied the January 2012 patch to a TST db.  the patch was successful from all the logs, but over the last week, I have received filled log files and core dumps.

The error message I see in the udump are: WARNING:Could not lower the asynch I/O limit to 131 for SQL direct I/O. It is set to -1.   I have found online recommendations to download and apply 8217795 from Oracle Metalink.

Any confirmations on this recommendation?
