INVALID/UNSUABLE indexes in db

Guys,

DB=10.2.0.5.

OS = LInux AS 4

We have one heavy OLTP db of size 1.45TB. We seen that lot of indexes are in INVALID/UNUSABLE/ n/a State.

Could anybody please tell me, why indexes becomes INVALID / UNUSABLE / n/a state ? What would the reasons ?

How could we fix this issue?
