Obsolete backups

I am using Oracle 11.2.0.1 database on Windows 2008 R2 (64 bit) and we take backups to disk.  We use database controlfile as the catalog.  We take  Level 0 on Sunday and Level 1 on Thursday and rest Level 2 backups.

I have the following parameter set for RMAN:

CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 30 DAYS;

I still see following backups in the file system:

Date                                                 Backup type

 6thMarch                                       only one backup piece of Level 0 ( archive)

7th MArch                                       Level 2 archive backup sets

8th March                                       Level 2 backup sets of database and few archive backup sets         

9th MArch                                      Level 2 database backup sets 4 and few archive log backup sets
