Supplier Workday Calendar

My client would like to use the concept of a supplier calendar. This would mean that would not have MRP requesting a ship date for a day in which a supplier is not open. I am unable to locate any documentation on the Supplier workday calendar and it's impact on the purchase process and with MRP. Does anyone have any information that they could share?
