ASCP and Demantra in separate databases

We are implementing Demantra and other VCP applications (ASCP, IO, SNO, APCC).
We are considering two options:

1) Having all applications in the same database (first install EBS and then Demantra on top of the EBS database)
2) Having Demantra in one database and the rest of the applications (ASCP, IO, SNO, APCC) in a separate database

What is the recommended option? What are the pros/cons of each option?
