PRVF-7532 : Package "kernel-headers" is missing on node
Problem Description: PRVF-7532 : Package "kernel-headers" is missing on node "test" - Cause: A required package is either not installed or, if the package is a kernel module, is not loaded on the specified node. - Action: Ensure that the required package is installed and available. I have kernel-uek-headers-2.6.32-200.13.1.el5uek.i686 installed. Is this a bug that I can ignore, or do I have to remove my Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel because something is broken?
Never mind. I found an obscure reference dealing with Oracle on a VM to this note (Oracle Linux Release Notes (Release 5.7) [ID 1344754.1]) which said how to remove the kernel-uek-headers and replace them with kernel-headers. It was talking about x86_64 and I’m using x86 but if figured it was close enough to give it try. It looks like it worked. What I would like to know is why there is nothing explicit in the install documentation or release notes that says “Do not use kernel-uek-headers” instead of “The following packages (or later versions) must be installed:” then listing kernel-headers-2.6.18,
