Solaris 11 SMF MASKED properties - need guidance

Hi,I'm trying to understand MASKED properties in Solaris 11 SMF.
If you want to see some, run:-
svccfg listcust -M

There are references to masked properties in svccfg, or rather how to list them, but every time they are mentioned there is a reference "see smf(5). "
man -s5 smf has no mention of masked properties.
Can anyone point me to an explanation please?
