Unable to Assign Item categories from Category sets window

Dear all,

I had a created a new structure and tried to assign item to a category from category sets window . I had assignd one item and saved it , but when I am trying to assign another item to a caegory , I am geting a message field is protected against update I am unable to assign category to items from category sets window,  please help me
