To what extent does ATP Summary Mode improve the performance of (re)scheduling order lines?

Dear,

Does anyone have any experience on what the impact on performance (response time) is of the profile option "MSC: Enable ATP Summary Mode" to "Yes"  ?

I have tested this for some items and and order lines, but did not find any noticeable impact on performance from the front end. Does anyone have statistics (% improvement)?

How does this ATP summary mode actually work from a technical PoV ?  Are there any disadvantages?
