Dear All,

Thank you for your assistance...

I am working on a new server on which the Oracle 11.2.0.3 software was installed, three databases were create.

Then the server name was changed, the three databases deleted, and recreated using DBCA...

Database 1 home was the first created, Database 2 home was second, Database 3 home was third.......

All three have identical tnsnames.ora files and very similar listener.ora files.

I can tnsping from

                              Database 1 to Database 2 and 3

                              Database 2 to  Databse  3

                              Database 3 to Database 2

indicting that Database 1 is the problem..

The error that comes up is

Used TNSNAMES adapter to resolve the alias
Attempting to contact DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = <hostname1>.<domain>)(PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVER = DEDICATED) (SERVICE_NAME = APGATE) ) )

Howdy, Stranger!
