ATP for ATO and STAR items

 If a ATO model is used to configure a product,and the FG item is a star item e.g. AS54888*1234

Assuming it was already created in the system before for another sales order, entering this star item on sales order should provide ATP results, is this correct?

If not configured already, when all options etc are selected, it should provide ATP results. is this correct or otherwise.

Please tell if above understanding is correct
