At our site, I am trying to configure a an aggregation that does not use LACP configured on the switch; the primary reason for this decision is to have a separate network interface and cable going to a different switch.  IIRC LACP requires the use of 2 or more ports configured on 1 switch (or a ganged up switch which we don't have)   The primary concern is failover, not throughput.

I have configured all the necessary files, and issued the the commands and the aggregation is being used.  My question is without LACP configured on the switch, should I be doing anything else to have the aggregation run in "primary" and "failover" mode?  Is this even an option?

Howdy, Stranger!
