Need to test recovery

Hi,

    We have a 1TB production database on 10gR2 (10.2.0.4) on RAC. We are using ASM for the data files and the RMAN backup is on some mount point.

    I would like to test the recovery with the production RMAN backup, but we don't have enough space (1TB ) to test.

    Could you please suggest any other alternate way of testing recovery using production RMAN backup.?
