Not able to end date a particular UOM ( FRM-40654)

Not able to end date a particular UOM ( FRM-40654) " Record has been updated , requery block to see change "

we get this error when we query the particular UOM.

we have raised an SR with Oracle but its taking a lot of time.

They say this is because of a trailing space.

We are not able to receive any Purchase Orders which are booked with this particular UOM
