Order Scheduling/ATP not respecting expiration date

We are having an issue with order scheduling.
For example, we have 100 cases on hand but 50 of them have expired.  There are another 25 arriving next week.

When we schedule a sales order, Oracle indicates that there are only 50 reservable today (because the other 50 have expired), but oracle also schedules the order to ship today (instead of scheduling based next week since we will only have 75 available, unexpired cases next week).

Can anyone help with what we are missing from a config perspective.
