Upgradation Help

Dear EBS Upgrade Gurus
I read the documentation E14010-01(Upgrade guide) thoroughly. I am at the step 10 on page 3-5.

Kindly give me suggestion what should i do
Q1. how much table space i have to increase ?
Q2. How many pre install patches i have to applied?
Q3. What should i have to do to increase the speed of this big patch?

I think all the my questions are not documented and the solution of these are depend on experience. So i ask you gurus to help me for doing my job in better way.
