Requisition Self Service - direct connect

In RSS,  Direct Connect to supplier's portal, is there a way to orderitem  to self requisition without having to create  an item master. I may be wrong but I believed I red somewhere that there is option somewhere  that  update the item master records with  the items selected from the  supplier portal.
