what happens to my ASM database if I change the parameter user_friendly_names in RHEL DMP multipath.
I have ASM disks created on /dev/mapper/mpathxxp1 partitions. (the parameter user_friendly_names in the RHEL DMP multipath.conf was set to YES when the LUNs were presented.)Now for certification of a third-party tool I need to turn off this parameter (user_friendly_names=NO).
I assume that after I reboot the server all the /dev/mapper/mpathxx will be changed to /dev/mapper/uuid.
Unfortunately I cannot test this (PRODUCTION database), but my question is: What will happen to my ASM disks?
Will they be able to understand that what used to be /dev/mapper/mpathxxp1 is now /dev/mapper/<uuid>p1 ???
